Spirit of Hendricks County Award presented in front of SCORE membership meeting
Cinda Kelly, Executive Director of the Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership (HCEDP),recently presented the Score the Spirit of Hendricks County Award to SCORE. This award was presented
to SCORE members, Derek Crager and Joe Lamble who staff the SCORE branch office located in the
HCEDP facility in Avon.
About one year ago, the HCEDP invited SCORE to open a SCORE office in that County to provide
prospective business owners with start-up business counseling and to provide existing businesses with
continuing guidance. The SCORE office is now located in the HCEDP facility located on U.S. 36 in Avon.
The union of HCEDP and SCORE has worked to the very best expectations of both organizations.
Currently, counseling is provided one day each week and will expand as needs dictate.
According to a recent article in the Hendricks County Economist, the level of business activity in
Hendricks County is extremely high and has many emerging businesses in the motor sports industry and
biotechnology industries. Proximity to the Indianapolis International Airport and the Indianapolis 500
Racing capital of the World Racetrack is a definite advantage and the Hendricks County business activity is
expected to increase dramatically as the economy improves.
